Not a great start........but a good one !!!!

EPL had already started, all 3 rivals recorded their victory but The red devils start their title defense rather poorly. A draw against Newcastle at home was all they could achieve. Newcastle were great in the game against a weakened Manchester United. Newcastle, who were thrashed 6-0 and 5-0 in their meetings with Man Utd the previous season, were in no mood to stay still.

The opener was scored by Newcastle’s Obafemi Martins as he powered a header into the net. The equalizer was scored just 2 minutes later as Fletcher converted Ryan Giggs cross. Man Utd thought they deserved a penalty when Giggs free kick struck Milner on the arm but the referee thought otherwise. Man Utd missed Ronaldo who is out due to an ankle injury and Tevez who flew to Argentina due to family matters. Newcastle were great throughout the game and truly deserved the point which they got. Maybe they deserved better. Shay Given made a few brilliant saves to keep Newcastle in the game. Fraizer Campbell made his debut as Tevez couldn’t play and he struggled to make an impression.

Manchester United have been known to have a bad start and then pick up later on in the season. We’ll have to wait and watch if they do the same this year.....aiiiyark. This season will be a very tough one for us though, as they have to take on Chelsea, who scored 4 goals in their league opener against Portsmouth.
